I like what the Angel Traders are doing, they tour the country getting business and customers talking. However, does this leave a gap? Are the business owners feeling they need more than the occasional get together?
Owning a business can be a lonely adventure, some find it difficult especially if you are new to France and wanting to start something of your own. There are websites that can offer advice (such as Valerie’s excellent site, Start Business France) but you can get a feel of what it is really like from face to face meetings.
The new business group for Poitou Charantes seems to be popular and starting to offer meetings. This and the popularity of the Angel Traders suggest there is a need.
I have tried to find business networking groups in my own area, the Lot and Garonne but so far no luck. This either indicates that there is no demand or no one has come forward to create a regular event. Difficult to tell at this stage.
If one was created in the Lot and Garonne, would you attend? In fact, if there was a regular event for businesses to meet each other in your own local area, would you be interested and take part?

Hi Bob – I think it’s great idea. As you know, I’m in Bergerac in the Dordogne which isn’t too far from you but it would be good if the location of the events could be moved around a bit so travelling doesn’t become an issue all the time.

I am definitely up for a business network meeting in the Lot-et-Garonne – our area needs it so please count me in and if you need help, you know where I am

I am delighted that a business network of this nature is available and will certainly attend the meeting in October. Thanks to Sandra for letting me know about it
Perhaps the meetings can move around 47 – I live in Monteton, near Duras and the owners of the Chateau let me use one of their rooms for business meetings foc, and supply coffee, food etc., (if required) for about 5€,

There is a new B2B networking group in Normandy, which is going from strength to strength. We have more people in Lower Normandy (14, 50 and 61) but would love any small business owners in Upper Normandy (27 and 76) to join us!
Next meeting is in September – join our website, and you will be included in the next e-mail with details of the event! If you have difficulty joining the website, send me a message on here, or via the Normandy Networking group on Facebook!

Thanks for the comment Judy, I will contact you via email in the next few days, perhaps we can do some cross promotion?
