For those not familiar with the concept Jellys are casual co-working events for freelancers, people working from home or running small businesses. They give the opportunity to meet new like-minded people in a social environment.

Jelly events are a mixture of work, chat, sharing tips and ideas, helping others and even maybe even giving the opportunity to worn on collaborative projects.

Jelly is not a traditional networking event, it is not the place to find new business or to try and sell your goods or services.

All you need to bring to Jelly events are yourself and anything that you would normally be using to work with ‘on the move’. This could be your laptop, netbook, portable phone, notebook, sketchbook, paintbox, sewing kit…

Jelly is an event that gives you an alternative space to work, bring things you can do quietly and on your own. There will be some interruption so it’s an ideal time and place to catch up on all the jobs you keep running out of time to do when working from home such as accounts, emails, updating websites, tweeting, correspondence.

One of the main attractions of attending a Jelly event is to break the routine of working on your own. Jelly is a great opportunity to meet people face to face. With a mix of nationalities at events Dordogne Jelly also gives people the chance to spend time communicating in different languages and fine tuning their business vocabulary.

In the future Dordogne Jelly also hopes to offer free workshops, help and information sessions n various topics for small businesses.

A big thank you goes to the Château de Vigiers who have generously agreed host Dordogne Jelly events for free once a month. As have the Auberge Chez Nous at Badefols-sur-Dordogne.

I am still looking for venues for the Terrasson/Hautefort area and the Nontron/Riberac area. If anyone is interested in hosting an event then please let me know.
