In the last few days, a few of my friends Twitter accounts have been messed with. I have received direct messages such as “This made me laugh so hard when i saw this about you lol“, a link is included but I wont mention it here.
I don’t ever follow those links and the messages can be a pain. But, can I ask you to do what I do?
I try to send a private message (DM) advising them I have received this message, due to their account being compromised. I also suggest that they change their password as soon as possible. If they are not following you (you can’t DM them) then send a normal tweet. However you word it, please say something and don’t ignore it.
I do this because it is a nice and friendly thing to do (people will appreciate it) and also because if my account gets messed with I hope some one will send me a message to let me know.
Right now off you go and change your password before it happens to you!
